The lads are arranged in order of 'the lads'-ishness.

Deano's a computer genius. He taught me 50% of everything I know about computers and I'd liek to think that over the time I've known him, I taught hi ma thing or two.
The great thing about Deano is that although he's a super genius like me, he hasn't fallen int othe same trap of boring 'geek' obscurity.
He's as streetwise as anyone you'd ever want to meet. One day I was on a buswith him and a group of four youngsters got on. Three got off two stops later. The third was in a bad way. Immediately, Deano couldread the symptoms and knew that the other three had given him some dodgy stuff. He told him how to cope with th experience and the best way to get over the resulting drug-hangover before it was out stop and we had to leave.
He's never even taken Drugs in his life but his line of friends has taught him everything about everything. He can snowboard, ice skate, ski, rollerblade, program in three different languages and has connections you wouldn't believe.
Its hard to tell his scars from fights (which he somehow gets involved in without knowing at the time) from the placeswhere his dog -stormy- has bitten him.
Typical conversation between me and Deano while at the net cafe:
Me: What are you looking for now?
Deano: Classic arcade conversions.
Me: Classic arcade conversions? Yuo sad git!
Deano: Well you just get back to your little mouse books then!
Me: Oh! Fine then!
Deano: Fine.
Me: Fine.
Deano:Fine
(five seconds of embarrased silence)
Me: so what else are you lookign for?
Lad factor 5/5.

My girlfriend. Unlike my last girlfriend she has more on her mind that getting her kit off.
She's an actress and a dancer and gets parts in local plays, musicals and pantomimes.
Her out of school job really tires her out and fill up her timetable and I haven't actually seen her outside of school yet (although now I've left school I'll have ot find a way).
When in school she has a very self protective attitude and knows when to give insulters of out fave TV show (Red Dwarf) a damn good slap.
Her mother runs a local greetings card shop.

A fellow librarian and one who knows his stuff about horror movies. He's only a Y7 (12 year old) which prevents hi mfrom seeing the good horror movies until they come out of video but he's a real know it all abotu the classics.
I don't know whether it's his love of horror movies that lead to this, but he's a master of biology. He know things about the lymphatic system that I cant even spell - and I'm six years older than he is and on my way to going to college!
He lends me his tapes of old splat gore horror movies and I watch them, yawn and give them back to him, pretending to like them.
Major fan of anything with Zombies in it.

Another fellow librarian. Nick is just the nicest person on the planet. I have no idea how he manages it.
He trains disabled kids to do sporting activites and iswillingto help with just about anything.
He designed some maps for the RPG but I never used them. Sorry.
He got into the disability sports thing through his brother - who has down's syndrome. I'm not putting his borther down or anythignbut I have no idea How Nick copes with it all.
His job and several other stressful factors gave given hi ma mental additiction to coffee and a huge sugar dependancy that you wouldn't believe.
I don't think he's got an enemy in the world.
lad factor 0/5 - and that's whats so great about him

AKA Dragoncharmer.
My brother Chris has an odd fixation with fictional scaly-winged fire-breathing reptiles.
He likes them as much as I like mice. The only difference is that mice exist. I have proof.
Never the less, he follows dragons, on the internet, in general life and in his choice of the books that he reads.
He has many more friends than I do - which he is always happy to point out - and gets higher test results than me - ditto.
He's always going out and getting 'drunk' with friends.
He's fantastically happy with his life and I'm not.
Nuff said.
